D Day Inland

The first Allied action of D-Day was the Ox and Bucks assault by glider at 00:16 at Pegasus Bridge, and the bridge over the Orne. The British paratroopers stated landing near Ranville at 00:50.   Meanwhile the American paratroopers stated to land some time later, unfortunately it turned into organised chaos. The Americans being dropped all over the place. Merville Gun Battery was attacked by the British and the guns destroyed  by 06:00 thus stopping them firing on Sword beach during the landings.
